Oct 17 - Dear Nick and Colleagues, Many, many thanks for a great time and highly informative sessions. You, Colin, Ken, and all we have worked with are amazing professionals and fantastic instructors with wry senses of humour. Speaking for Igor and Derek as well, you have given us the confidence and the cautions needed to start being safe boaters. We will enthusiastically recommend your school to others for sure and are looking forward to working with you again at some point. Kindest Regards, Keith
Sept 17 - 'Its never too late! Nearly 80 years old I approached my Level 2 Power Boat Course with a little trepidation. However, Nick and Ken at Boatability gave me the confidence and skills to complete the two day course. I really would like to thank them both for their help and understanding. Really glad I did it and I thoroughly enjoyed myself'.
Aug 17 - Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the two days I spent in your care, learning, completing & then passes the Level 11 powerboat course. I was taken out of my comfort zone on a few occasions but oh boy did I thoroughly enjoy myself. I have learnt so much & driving back from the course yesterday it wasn't until I got to Dorchester that I realised that I hadn't taken my hand off my gear stick - hand on gears/throttle definitely stuck! lol Seriously guys, thank you once again. My Husband is very proud that I have done it & I couldn't have had better teachers. xx Sarah
July 17 - I just completed the Powerboat L2 and it was such an amazing experience with a professional and patient team. I'm not experienced or even co-ordinated and I feel much more confident having been. I realise now how important the course is for everyone but also how accessible. Give it a go, it is not to be missed! Thank you everyone. I will be back. (Ken might need a dry suit and a pint, but I promise I'll practice in between). Alexia
June 17 - Hi Nick & Ken, We just wanted to thank you both for making the RYA Powerboat Level 2 training so enjoyable (despite the weather) and informative. We're back in Abu Dhabi where we will put to good use the knowledge you imparted and where a boating qualification is a prerequisite to registering a boat. We're still amazed that this is not a requirement in the UK; it's hard to believe that as a nation who once "ruled the waves" we are so far behind other countries in some aspects of safety at sea. We'd strongly recommend this training to anyone who is thinking of taking a boat on to the water.
Thanks and best regards,
Andy & Debbie
April 17 - Nick, this is what I sent to the Area Manager Premier Marinas: The chief instructor, Nick Kincart from Boatability was as good as it gets and I learned a lot from him and Josh. While the new regulations in Portsmouth Harbour were a very important part of our course and welcomed by us all, it was Nick’s boat handling skills which he quietly and skilfully imparted to us, that I learned most from. His friendliness, patience and teaching skills have given me a lot of knowledge, which in turn has built up my confidence. I went straight home and relayed my new found knowledge to her indoors and cannot wait to put this into practise. Both you and Premier are to be applauded for your quest to educate your customers and we in turn, will hopefully display the results of your good work at marinas we visit. Thank you.
Very Best Wishes, John.
April 17 - Hi Nick just to say what a great course the level 2 power boat course was .I learned so much from a very experienced instructor. You went out of your way to make sure we understood everything and we were safe.It was fun and informative.I will recommend the course to others and be back for more myself.
Thank you again, Trevor
March 17 - Good morning Nick, I would like to say on behalf of Graeme, Ben and myself what a fantastic couple of days we had on your course. As formal as it was, it was delivered in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere by a very knowledgeable person.
As you can imagine in my industry I attend many courses mostly involving health and safety which can be very tedious especially when delivered by a presenter with zero life skills or personality. You demonstrated a world of hands on experience and years of training which came over in a manner that allowed us novices to learn. We hope to extend the confidence and experience you gave us to enjoying going out and enjoying the sea. Many thanks Nick and please extend our gratitude to Ken.
We would not hesitate to recommend you to others and who knows maybe see you soon for the Advanced course!!!
Jan 17 - Nick, I would like to thank you for my level 2 powerboat handling instruction on 28th and 29th January 2017, anyone else thinking of taking this course should read this, you will benefit from a wealth of experience with this highly professional firm, dont be afraid if you have never driven a powerboat before as with me, it is a friendly and informative atmosphere with a relaxed and safe environment and I would recommend this course for anyone contemplating hiring boats abroad as this is a legal requirement outside the UK
Jan 17 - Dear Nick,
I just want to thank you for the instruction you gave me when I came over last Thursday for that VHF Licence Assessment. What you demonstrated was very useful and I certainly feel more confident I will use the radio appropriately and follow the correct procedure from now on.
Jan 17 - Hi Nick,
I thought I would send you a quick email, to thank you for a great couple of days spent with you completing, my level 2 powerboat course. You made it very easy to understand and take in what you were explaining. I will certainly be back if I choose to take my training further. Thank you all very much. Great fun too.
Jan 17 - Hi Nick
I just wanted to thank you and your staff for the excellent course you put us through at the beginning of the month. As you know I have had boats for many years but I still learnt an awful lot from your course and Sarah even more so. She was very impressed the way you and your staff make your clients so comfortable and welcome from the very beginning and make the course so interesting as well as fun while learning. I will be in touch about the VHF course shortly.
Once again thank you all from both of us.
Mike and Sarah
Jan 17 - I cannot recommend Nick & Boatability enough - great value, very knowledgable, patient in his approach while learning & makes the whole thing genuine fun on top too. All the best for the future Nick, you deserve every success & I will certainly be back for more! Dan
Nov 16 - Myself and 14-year-old son did our Powerboat Level 2 course with Nick at Boatability. We were both novices at boating and were looking to gain some basic skills and get some time on the water. The course exceeded our expectations by a long way because we learned so much and had lots of time on the boat. The classroom bit was pitched at exactly the right level so that learned all the essential information that we needed to without being overwhelmed. Nick got us stuck in straight away on the boat as well and made every minute useful to us. I learned much more than I expected to and got some really good experience of boat handling, parking, anchoring and of course man overboard! I would recommend Nick and Boatability to anyone especially if you are thinking of putting any young adults through the course too. My son thought it was brilliant and Nick superbly guided him and it built his confidence tremendously.
Oct 16 - (Current World Champion Powerboating Class 3A Offshore!)
Nick, thank you for teaching our advanced powerboat course...your methods of teaching were relevant and informative to our varying experience levels. after 35 years boating experience and a gold medal in the world championships in class 3A offshore , you have made the subject matter interesting..I've learnt some new tricks. thank you.
Really enjoyed the Powerboat 2 course with Boat ability in Portsmouth. Despite having spent much time on the water it was good to be reminded what I didn’t know, and the being keen to buy or certainly use a power boat I definitely benefited from completing the course. Great instruction and equipment made for a fun and informative two day course, which I look forward to putting into practise.
With apologies for the delay (caused by a holiday, for which the licence gained from your course was instantly useful and gave us great fun), I just wanted to thank you for a truly excellent course. It was two days of both interesting and valuable instruction and guidance, planned, prepared and delivered in a really good, engaging way, with the right mix of essential instruction and practical “hands on” experience. The group size was perfect too. I am so glad I did this course at your facility, with all the significant buoyage, channel signs, traffic and sea conditions to learn about and get experience of, rather than in “tamer” waters nearer home in London! I cannot recommend your course highly enough –and will be sending various other members of our family in your direction in due course!
With many thanks again,
Dear Nick and Ken, Thank you very much for a thoroughly enjoyable and instructive weekend. As well as learning a great deal, both Veeraj and I had a great laugh with you. Having had a bit of a taster, I'm sure that we will be back for more training before too long.
All best wishes and thanks again,
Shiv & Veeraj
Just a quick note to say thanks to you, Ken, Liam and the team for a great couple of days training. The tuition was excellent, and it was very useful to learn some useful local knowledge.
Hope to see you around the marina, or in one of the bars for a few shandies.
All the best,
Andy and Emma

Hi Nick and team .
Just to say a big thank you to you and your team for a brilliant time i had on your powerboat level 2 course at the weekend. The whole course was well presented all the way through the two days. With a relaxed atmosphere throughout the whole course. I would recommend your company to anybody.

To Boatability From John .....
27 th April 2016
Dear Nick and Ken,
Thank you both for a great level II course these past two days. The classroom material was delivered in a very professional, clear and easy to understand way. I appreciated very much how this material that could have been very dry was made interesting, interactive and fun. I learned an enormous amount. The practical work at sea was also very worthwhile. I feel confident to handle a boat following your tuition, demonstrations, explanations and supportive coaching during my practice runs. I would recommend this course to anyone thinking of going out in a small craft, and
certainly recommend you both highly. Please feel free to post this on your web as a testimonial and also to put people in contact if they need verbal recommendations.
Thanks again, Warm regards
Thank you and Ken once again for the great experience the last two days. We thoroughly enjoyed it and helped us be confident that we will be able to plan, respect and enjoy our future boating experience.
Thanks for an excellent day, we throughly enjoyed it. We have both come away with a lot of navigational knowledge and tricks of the trade and a RYA PWC ticket, more than we expected. John is thrilled that now that he has confidence on a PWC and can't wait to rent a PWC in Cyprus and wants me to load him on a PB course level 2 as soon as I can. Very knowledgable and well worth our time and money, Ken and yourself made us feel very welcome and relaxed and the banter was awesome. We are guaranteed to recommend Boatability to our comrades and friends, and I will be back in touch for any advice on other possible courses and pass in your office in when near If that's ok with you.
Absolutely brill Mate, thank you, Please pass our regards on to Ken
Anthony and John
Fantastic informative and fun. A truly great two days and Im not someone easily pleased. Nick and Ken have a great method of teaching this course, if you are viewing locations and firms to do this with I doubt you will find a better place and guys to teach it. As Arnold swazzeneger once said "Ill be back !!"
Dear Nick, Trish and Ken,
I would just like to thank you all so much for the Power Boat course I attended this week. I have learnt a great deal and trust I can now put into practice and remember most (because I will forget things) of what you have taught me. I found the classroom great and very informative, a good relaxed atmosphere. The serious facts and points put across so well. The highlight of your course are your boats, getting out to sea and putting the knowledge you have been given into practice. A very enjoyable time and great fun. Brilliant. Thank you so much
Many thanks for last week’s course, which we all thoroughly enjoyed despite the conditions. As a lifelong yachtie, I originally only came along for the ride because Nigel wanted to obtain an ICC, but I was surprised how useful the course was to me. It certainly opened my eyes! Many thanks,
I just thought I would send you a note of thanks.
Your course was informative, well explained and incredibly useful. Your explanations and reminders were excellent and so simple, please pass on thanks to Cliff who was a great help on the water.
Thanks Pal, as always a great course, conducted professionally and with added humour, I will definitely pop in and have a cup of tea with you and Ken, thanks to Ken for his advise on The forthcoming PRP exam as well, you make a great team at Boatability and would recommend you to everyone, will be back for all future upgrades and courses and a cup of tea/pint !!! Thanks again Nick Take care and Kindest Regards
Many thanks for a great 2 days experience. your patience and tuition was spot on. I know, having completed the course in such adverse conditions, gave me a great deal of confidence, especially in regards to ribs. I am now looking forward to buying a rib in one of the Greek islands, i'll let you know how I get on. Thanks also to Ken, for his patience and knowledge. I would fully recommend Boatability to anyone considering buying a boat. The course certainly opened my eyes. Many thanks
Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the course. One of the best that I have attended. Really useful. I have today accepted a 3 week delivery starting on 22nd November so I will contact you again in the New Year to sort out my First Aid Course.
Best M - Yachtmaster Sail
I feel I must write and say a huge “Thank You” for your tuition, attention and consideration on my Powerboat Level 2 Course this week. Being registered disabled and 68 years of age, I had misgivings regarding my ability to complete the course to a satisfactory standard, but I reckoned without your ability to not only impart so much knowledge and information in such a short time, but also to make it such an enjoyable experience. Your thoughtfulness in providing me with “one to one” tuition on the cathedral-hulled boat whilst others on the course could enjoy their experience with Ken on the RIB, was well thought out and very considerate to all concerned. Now I feel more than confident to take a boat on the Mediterranean when I receive my ICC, which was my main aim in attending the course. I would recommend Boatability to anyone thinking of taking up Powerboating – I only wish I had done it years ago.
Thanks again, Kind Regards

Hi Nick / Trish
Just to say a big thankyou for your help in me achieving the RYA 2 certification. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would recommend you to any of my friends. I particularly enjoyed the high speed manoeuvring and also the parking element in the marina. Nick, I could have done with a RHIB to get home last night, the rain was torrential for the first 120 miles before it died out just north of Warwick. I am sure I will be back in the future to further my experience once I have put into practice some of the key elements you taught us over the last two days. Thanks again.
Thank you Trish,
My experience with Boatability has been top notch. The preliminary information you and Nick provided helped me accurately identity my needs and expectations. Your personable and experienced staff conducted a professional and highly informative course. Nick's interaction with us clients as well as with his staff was the perfect balance, resulting in a high quality, safety oriented format of instruction. Combined with an excellent instructor to student ratio and a personal touch that only an invested business owner- operator can provide. As stated on your web site, Portsmouth has everything you could want and more for a training location. I'm impressed. I traveled from America to receive this internationally recognized certification and I will continue to use Boatability for my future training needs. Thank you for a great experience.
Best Regards, Dave Loeffler
A message of big thanks from me, Christian and Ollie for the excellent course you have just given us. Congratulations to you for the enormous amount of knowledge you have imparted to us in such a short time and the professional way you have gone about it. Our thanks to Ken too for excellent instruction on the water and for lessons in Geordie. We have all thoroughly enjoyed the experience despite being half drowned by the elements.
All the very best, Tom
Sorry it's taken a few days to write, been a bit hectic. Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your time and patience with us on our course last week. I have to attend a number of courses through work and hobbies but can honestly say yours was up there with the very best. Even more importantly for me, the whole family enjoyed it and whilst we are a long long way from being fully proficient you have given us the confidence to start gaining experience with the boat. We will definitely be back for more training as we are determined to become more proficient at close boat handling and I along with a friend and his son intend to take our training further, day skipper etc.
We just wanted to say a big Thank you to you and Ken for the recent powerboat lessons. We all really enjoyed it and learnt a great deal. We were able to put it into use on our holiday in the Stockholm archipelago, where we had to use a powerboat to get to the holiday home island. We had a metal hulled 'Buster L', with a 50hp outboard which lifted out of the water and was great fun. James got randomly stopped by the Swedish coastguard and breathalysed, as they have a zero alcohol law for boating, luckily he hadn't been drinking, and when they saw we all had life jackets on, navigation maps , kill chord etc. they were very happy and helpful. Thanks again.
Kind regards, Adam, Sarah and James.
Just a quick email to thank you and Ken for a brilliant course last weekend. Ken is a great instructor and the input you gave both mornings was relevant and well pitched. I really enjoyed the weekend and got a lot of both practical and theoretical skills from it. Thank you both.
Kind regards, Richard
I just wanted to say thank you for a great course last week. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so interesting and the practical side was great too! Special thanks to yourself, Ken and Liam too, you were all brilliant. I may visit again soon as my mrs is looking at doing the same now (wish I knew that at the time). I might even look to take it a bit further myself too.
Kind Regards. Ross
To The Boatability Team, Hi Nick & Ken,
I just wanted to write a big thank you for giving me confidence to take charge of my own boat. I would just like to add that if anybody is Thinking of boating? Take This Course! Thinking of buying a boat? Take this course! Already a boat owner? Take this course! I have learnt more on this course with you guys than after many years with supposed "experts"!! I understood and took away a lot from the course and can honestly recommend this course to anyone who likes to go to sea. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel welcome and relaxed throughout. Hope you were able to salvage the TDC tape on steering wheel after my Firm/Nervous grip. Hope to catch up soon meanwhile be safe and happy boating.
Hak, Senior Engineer
I just wanted to thank you for the weekend and give you some feedback. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and found it thorough, presented professionally but in a relaxed and informal manor that made learning easy. Both yourself and Ken are not only very experienced and knowledgeable but easy company and I now feel that I have a good base to start my boating adventures. I would highly recommend the course to anyone in, on or around boats. On a personal note when I am next in Port Solent I will call in for a coffee. In the meantime, I wish you Ken and the team all the best.
Thanks so much for the brilliant RYA course, I thoroughly enjoyed it & learned loads - cant wait to get back on the water now!
Caroline Dinenage MP
Would just like to say a big thanks for today. Really enjoyed the course and thought the way you relayed all the information was very professional, courteous and friendly. Great boat and superb location location. I would recommend your company to all. I now feel totally confident for when we hire a boat abroad. Well done and thanks again.
Best regards, Mark & Fiona.
Obviously you were right but you even underestimated it, it was EPIC !! I loved it !! Clearly your team are excellent and I have great fun, actually do you hire them because they are funny ? because I had a good laugh and I also appreciated the way of teaching, which for me was my principle fear. I can send a much more longer email to explain how your team was enjoyable and extraordinaire and everything but first I need to learn more English adverb... Now I want to do the intermediate courses. Can you just send me the price and if you done it also during weekends? So thank you for everything as you have been helpful and TOP of the Top since the first email that I received from you in August ( I was quite impressed about all the complete information).
Big thank you and see you later !!! Nassima
Good Morning Nick,
Just a quick email to say thank you to both yourself and your team. I can honestly say that it was the best course I have ever been on. Thanks again and I am sure that both myself and Ollie will be back to again increase our boating knowledge and driving abilities.
Dear Nick & Team,
I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you for all your efforts on the level 2 powerboat course. It has to be one of the most enjoyable courses I’ve ever attended, being both relaxed and highly informative at the same time and I thought the mix of classroom and time on the water was just right. Even though I’ve been playing with powerboats for over 20 years, this course covering boat handling, safety, chart reading and lots more has to be a must for everyone who spends any time at all in or around boats. The course has just made me so aware of the risks inherent in every boat trip and the need to manage those risks with the knowledge gained and common sense....Thanks for passing on your immense knowledge in such a fun and practical way and reminding me to be aware at all times that there is absolutely nothing common about common sense.
Kind Regards, Ingram
A little belatedly but no less sincerely I am writing to express my grateful thanks to you and Ken for your skillful help on last weeks course. Not only was it very instructive but you both also made it great fun. I went over to the RYA at Hamble last Friday to get my ICC and I am now looking forward to testing my newly aquired skills in Kefalonia next week.
Thanks again John
Thanks for the 2 day Powerboating level 2 course. It was the perfect balance of fun and a big learning exercise, which you somehow delivered in an easy to take in and memorable way. So for once a course where you don't promptly forget what you've learned! I now have a very different view of life on the waves and a new respect for those who know what they are doing.
Kind regards, Mike Nicholson, Group Director
You may or may not remember me ...I just wanted to say again thanks for your time over 2 days learning about Powerboating ...I have just spent the past 2 days on my boat enjoying the thrills of being on the water, all I learnt with your crew was a great help ..However i still have a lot to learn...Should I need any refreshers or update of any new skills I will be in touch ...So once again thanks!!!
Regards Mark Bailey
I wanted to mention that the weekend course was a blast! I have learnt a lot of new things and consolidated my understanding of other items these past two days. I believe I couldn't have found better teachers or location to learn Power Boating. Thank you, Liam and Ken for the wonderful two days of learning. I hope I can get more experience and book the intermediate level course with you.
Regards, Vish (Maritime Voluntary Service)
What a most amazing two days I have just had doing the level 2 powerboat course with Nick and his team, Exceptionally professional at all times Nick with his relaxed attitude in the classroom and on the Ribs made it fun to do. Nick's knowledge of his craft teaching boat handling, safety, chart reading and all the other aspects of the course were second to none, I can now take my boat out knowing that with the knowledge I have gained from the course, providing I stick to the rules, will keep me safe and hopefully boating for a long time yet. An Exceptional Course both in and out of the Classroom, relaxed and informative with very professional tutorials and presentations. This is a MUST DO for anyone wanting to learn the boat skills required not only for the level 2 power boat certificate and the ICC but going out with the knowledge you are going to be safe and understand the sea and everything going on around you. Gives you the confidence you need. Great course Nick. Alan Howard - Magistrate
I just thought I would drop you a line to thank you for the last two days. The course was brilliant and learnt so much in the 2 days we were there. Hope to be in touch at some point in the future.
Best regards, Tom
“Nick, just wanted to let you know we rented a power boat (rib, evinrude 150) in Corsica and the Boatability course proved invaluable. My wife said she felt much safer with my son and I piloting now and she was impressed by how much we’d learnt . Pretty much everything came in useful from checking if the tank was full (it wasn’t!), mooring in wind with rocks in the danger zone, and how to deal with bigger waves as the wind really got up on the way back and we’d have bounced all the way before. Plus there were a fair share of buoys and a rock with an isolated danger sign which we’d not have recognised at all before the course. Overall we think the two days we spent with you and the team was tremendously valuable and enjoyable."
Justin Ash, business CEO
Can I again thank you for the 3 days it was very eye opening and informing.
If you would allow me to highlight some validation points from the course:
Method - Clear and concise and easy to absorb the information. Works extremely well with the amount of information to be passed over.
Manner - Relaxed no pressure environment
Matter - Covered all relevant procedures and theory great to actually get out on the water and in the boat and put into practice the classroom theory which clicked very well together.
Thanks again and please pass on my gratitude to both Ken and Liam.
This is just a short email to say thank you for what was an incredibly enjoyable Level 2 course, despite the persistent snow! I found the whole experience to be incredibly professional and friendly, never feeling that anything was too much trouble. You gave me absolute confidence in all of the kit, methods and, most importantly for me, my own potential and ability to help me progress. I would have no hesitation in recommending you for any training course and will certainly be back!
I wish you and all involved with Boatability the very best.
Regards, Rob Johnson.
Just wanted to say once again, many thanks for the course. Your expertise and course content has made me much more confident in handling a boat. I had a wonderful time and learnt a great deal.
Thanks, Kind regards, Paul
This is just a quick email to thank you for last week’s course. Both Emma and I found it to be very useful. She is now away in the Azores hopefully putting it into practice whilst tagging sharks. For me it was the boat handling and the things that sailing yachtsmen would not consider about power boats that were of particular value. Since I teach navigation it would be particularly useful to see what the advanced power boat user does when bouncing along at speed. The techniques taught in the classroom for use on a chart table simply would not work in that environment.
Regards, Tom Dobinson (RYA Yachtmaster Theory Instructor)
